Mound Fire Dept’s 59th annual fish fry is June 5

Members of the Mound Fire Department are gearing up to mark the 59th annual fish fry and dance.

The event is set for June 5 at the Mound Fire Station with dinner being served from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. and the dance with music from the Deep Fried Tweeters will follow dinner and last until midnight.

Last year’s fish fry was hampered by cold and rainy weather, but this year the department is putting up a large tent that will cover the entire apron in front of the fire station to shield attendees in the case of rain, Mound Fire Chief Greg Pederson said.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Pederson said that firefighters are out in neighborhoods selling tickets. People can also purchase tickets by calling the fire station administrative office at (952) 472-3555. The Mound Fire Station is located at 2415 Wilshire Boulevard.
